Your island experience is not complete without doing a bit of shopping and visiting a temple or two. Sampalan village main street is filled with an assortment of shops that focus mainly on local requirements. It is also the location of the Village Market which sells fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, and has a few clothes stalls.

Pilah Village is located on a hill not far from Sampalan. The main street has an array of silversmith shops where artisans design and make silver jewellery to order.

Toyapakeh is a quaint little seaside village oozing charm. With a couple of warungs serving food and cold drinks on the beach it’s a great place to sit and watch the boats coming and going. Toyapakeh also has a market providing fresh food and vegetables and other items to locals.

Pura Goa Giri Putri The cave temple set high on a hill. Climb the steps, take in the breathtaking view before you enter into an enormous cave housing four Hindu temples and one Buddhist temple. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings, meditate and relax before you exit at the other side of the hill. Ped Temple The most important temple for Hindu’s on the island, it is steeped in history. Indonesians come from all over Bali on a pilgrimage to Ped temple at least once in their lifetime. This temple almost always busy with numerous ceremonies.

Soap making workshop: a recent addition to Nusa Penida, an industrious trio who believe in social enterprise business started making beautiful, fragrant essential oil hand soaps with organic materials found right here on the island. They sourced a group of women in their local community to teach the skills required to make the soap, these women now share in the profits from sales. They are enthusiastic about sharing the process with you. Minimum of two people required for this workshop.

NEIGHBOURING ISLAND TOUR: Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan are a stones throw away. We can take you there on our boat, show you all the great spots, have lunch and return you back to Nusa Penida in time for sunset.
